If you were a fan of Jill Lane’s stallion Red, you may want to add Kool Kingdom to your watchlist. This up-and-coming Thoroughbred stallion is preparing for a career in barrel racing. He appears to have what it takes to become an elite competitor and sire.

Kool Kingdom, aka “Thor,” was foaled on April 4th, 2017 in Kentucky. He was bred by John Liviakis and Slam Dunk Racing. Thor is a beautiful bay stallion by Kentucky Derby and Dubai World Cup winner Animal Kingdom. His dam, Kool Charli, is by graded stakes winner and leading sire Tale of the Cat. His pedigree combines some of the best bloodlines from Europe and the United States including names such as Leroidesanimaux, Acatenago, Storm Cat and Pulpit. He was in race training at Golden Gate Fields in Berkeley, California when he was purchased by Hannah Long as a stallion prospect for her breeding program. Thor has since begun training as an all-around mount.
Hannah owns and operates Rogue Horse Training, a breeding and training facility in Gold Hill, Oregon. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area where she competed in Team Roping, Barrel Racing, Western Pleasure and Equitation. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and an Equine Management Certificate from Texas Tech University, Hannah returned to the West Coast to start her business. In addition to training horses and giving lessons, Hannah has also rehabilitated and rehomed dozens of off-track Thoroughbreds. Her wide range of experience has proven invaluable. She is fully prepared to campaign a stallion like Thor.
Thor stands 16.3HH and weighs 1400 pounds. Despite his seemingly large size, he is extremely agile. His powerful shoulders and hindquarters contribute to his impressive athletic ability. He has substantial bone, strong hooves and sound legs. Thor has shown promise in both Dressage and Ranch Work, but Hannah’s primary goal is to make him a barrel horse. He is started on the pattern and set to compete in the five-year-old futurities this season. Hannah says that Thor is extremely intelligent and has a playful, yet quiet demeanor. She has no hesitations about allowing her students to handle and even ride him.
In 2022, Thor is standing at South Side Equine Clinic in Grants Pass, Oregon. He is 6 panel N/N and approved to cover Jockey Club, AQHA, APHA, ApHC and Warmblood mares. His conformation and diverse bloodlines will make him an excellent outcross for racing, barrel racing or even English disciplines. Thor has already covered several mares including Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horses, Appaloosas and Warmbloods. His first foals will be arriving very soon. Hannah is offering considerations to proven mares and multiple mare discounts as well. If you are interested in booking a breeding to Thor, you can contact Hannah at roguehorsetraining@outlook.com.
